Greece keen on ties with Iran, Ex-PM
Athens, Nov 22, IRNA - Former Greek prime minister Konstantinos Mitsotakis said on Friday that Greece is keen on further ties with Iran and welcomes developing economic cooperation.
In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Athens Mehdi Honar-Doust,
Mitsotakis said that Greek people are friendly to Iranians.
Mitsotakis, who is currently the Honorary Chief of the New Democracy
party, added that the historical commonalties between Iran and Greece
can pave the ways for fostering economic cooperation.
Referring to his visit to Iran in 1992, he said that Islamic Republic
of Iran has great potentials and Greece welcomes
international and regional cooperation with Iran.
Meanwhile, Iranian ambassador stressed boosting Tehran-Athens
cooperation in various fields, particularly in trade.
Honar-Doust outlined Iran's stand on its nuclear program as well as
its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
He also said that Iran plays constructive role for establishment of
peace and stability in Iraq and Afghanistan.
