ANOTHER QUAKE HITS GORONTALO WATERS
Jakarta, Nov 21 (ANTARA) - A 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook the waters 85 km southeast of Gorontalo city in the Indonesian island of Sulawesi on Friday.
The epicenter of the tremblor which struck at 11.55 a.m. was 117 km beneath the sea level, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said in its official website.
The agency said the quake did not have the potential of causing a tsunami.
Friday's tremblor was the latest in a series of quakes with a magnitude of more than 5 that jolted Gorontalo in the past week.
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Gorontalo at the wee hours of Monday, causing serious damage to a number of buildings.
An aftershock measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale hit the city nearly 30 minutes later.
