BELGIAN CROWN PRINCE, ECONOMIC MISSION TO ARRIVE IN INDONESIA SATURDAY

Jakarta, Nov 12 (ANTARA) - Crown Prince Phillipe of Belgium was scheduled to visit Indonesia leading a Belgian economic mission, and slated to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta on November 22, 2008, noon.

"Prince Phillipe would be staying in Indonesia from November 22 to 26, 2008, among others exploring investment opportunies in Indonesia," foreign ministry spokesman Teuku Faizasyah said here Friday.

"An 81-strong Belgian economic mission will be accompanying the prince. The economic mission will be discussing agriculture, plantation, furniture, textile, food processing, building construction, machinery, energy, healthcare, retail, logistics, banking, satellite communications, infrastructure, defense, shipping, research and technology, and jewelry (diamonds)," he said.

Prince Phillipe accompanied by his wife Princess Mathilde, was scheduled to meet Vice President M Jusuf Kalla and Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo to discuss transportation, clean water, and waste management at the City Hall.
"Prince Phillipe is also scheduled to visit the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) on November 25, 2008, to discuss technology development, and meet West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan," Teuku Faizasyah said.

The prince will also officially dedicate an expansion project of Deslee Clamaa Indonesia in Purwakarta and PT Bekaert Indonesia in Kerawang, West Java. Then he would meet Transportation Minister Jusman Syafii Djamal at Jakarta's Tanjung Priok Port to discuss port management.

Meanwhile, Princess Mathilde was scheduled to visit micro credit projects in Bogor, West Java, and attend a Belgian promotion gala dinner.

Belgium is one of Indonesia's important business partners. Until July 2008, the trade between the two countries reached US$120 billion with Indonesian exports to Belgium valued at US$828 million and imports US$375.5 million.

Indonesia's export destinations include Belgium.

Belgium is also one of the 30 top investors in Indonesia.
