4,000 scholarships for poor students nationwide
HCM City (VNA) - A total of 4,000 scholarships, each worth between 1-2 million VND, in addition to bicycles and study aids, have been presented to poor children who have obtained excellent results in study nationwide.
A festival to hand over the scholarships to students was held at once in
400 junior secondary schools in 63 provinces and cities and live broadcast
by Vietnam Television via TV bridge connecting the Hanoi Children's Palace,
central Thua Thien-Hue province's Teenage Centre, and Ho Chi Minh City's
Hong Bang school on Nov. 20, the Teachers' Day in Vietnam .
Addressing the festival, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister
Nguyen Thien Nhan praised children's fondness of learning and wished them to
become good children and excellent students with nice dreams and
