BOGOR IMMIGRATION DETAINS TWO AFRICANS
Bogor, Indonesia, Nov 21 (ANTARA) - Two Africans have been detained by Bogor immigration officers for apparently not being in possession of passports.
The two African men were identified as Tankeu Abdel Abzizou of Cameroon, and Uomar Diallo of Mali.
"We arrested the two Africans at their rented house in Cluster Montreal, Kota Wisata Cibubur housing complex on Tuesday," Bogor immigration office spokesman M Setiawan said here on Friday.
Setiawan said Abzizou and Diallo were arrested because they were unable to show passports to immigration officials.
When the officials asked them to show their passports, Abzizou said his was being kept by a travel agent, while Uomar said his had been taken by a friend as collateral on a loan.
"Because they failed to show their passports, we detained them on Tuesday. They promised to show us their passports later but until now there is no indication that they will do so," Setiawan said.
According to Setiawan, Abzizou claimed to have been a player in the Banda Aceh Persiraja football club but his passport was in the hands of his travel agent.
"But Abzizou was unable to mention the name of the travel agent and its address, so we concluded that he lied , while Uomar calimed he had visited Indonesia on business several times," Setiawan said, adding that Uomar held a multiple visa which could be used to visit Indonesia more than once.
