Banda Aceh, Nov 20 (ANTARA) - Save the Children, a foreign non-governmental organization, through its Family-Based Care program, has presented a mobile library to the Muhammadiyah Children's Center, a local NGO, for operation in 18 villages in North Aceh district.
Husaini Ismail, Save the Children's manager for North Aceh, said here on Thursday the mobile library was intended to help improve the quality of the care given to children in foster homes in North Aceh district.
"The management of Save the Children in North Aceh district hopes that all parties can support the activities of the mobile library in 18 villages in North Aceh," Husaini said.
Meanwhile, Family-Based Care program manager Nurgul Baiburaeva said the specific objective of the presentation of the mobile library was to help increase the awareness of foster home managements and the local public in general about the rights of children.
Nurgul said not only did the mobile library offer books but also video, TV, and LCD programs of educative value to local children and foster homes.
North Aceh district administration spokesman Azhari said on the occasion the activities of Save the Children in the district were fully supported by the local authorities.
"We fully support the activities of Save the Children here and we hope that the mobile library will be operated at all villages in North Aceh district," Azhari said.
