Yemen, UN discuss reconstruction on Saada, Hadramout, Mahrah

SANA'A, Nov. 19 (Saba) - Yemen and United Nations discussed here on Wednesday the UN supports to reconstruct Saada governorate and the heavy rain-affected areas in eastern governorates of Hadramout and Mahrah.

Prime Minister Ali Mujawar and UN Assistant Secretary General and Regional Director
of the United Nations Development Programme UNDP Amat Al Alim Alsoswa reviewed the
recent preparations for the coming parliamentary elections and achievements in this
regard.

Mujawar praised role of the UNDP in supporting the government in reducing poverty
rates and developing the country, highlighting the economic challenges Yemen faces
currently and its future plans to overcome them.

In addition, Premier made clear that the field counting in the stricken governorates
is still underway, voicing his appreciation of efforts the UNDP has exerted to
alleviate the impacts of the disaster.

Alsoswa affirmed the commitment of the UN to prop up the government's efforts for
development and poverty alleviation.
