VP, Chinese delegation discuss Grand National Library establishment

SANA'A, Nov. 19 (Saba) - Vice President Abdu Rabu Mansur Hadi was briefed here on Wednesday on the details of the Grand National Library establishment to be build in Sana'a.

During his meeting with Hadi, the head of the Chinese technical delegation assigned
to carry out the project's survey and designs as well as to construct the library
said that the construction works will commence at the beginning of 2009.

This project is a fruit of the Chinese Vice President visit to Yemen lately, Hadi said.

He added the Yemeni-Chinese relations would witness great improvement in the future,
highlighting the success of Chinese companies working in Yemen in oil and gas
domains.

The Grand National Library is to be built on 96,000 M² in Sana'a amounting to $40
million. It includes a theater of 800 seats capacity, halls for meetings and a floor
only for scripts and historical documents in addition to libraries for people with
special needs.
