Iran-Syria ties will help regional security: al-Moualem
Damascus, Nov 19, IRNA - Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem said here Tuesday that Iran-Syria relations will help security and stability in the Middle East.
He said in a joint press conference with his British counterpart David
Milliband that Iran is an undeniable player in view of its
geographical location and forging good ties with it will help maintain
regional peace and security.
Asked whether relations between Damascus and London will continue
while maintaining ties with Hamas and Hezbollah, he said that Hamas is
part of the Palestine nation with a majority in Palestinian parliament.
He hoped that all countries will reach a unified stance on the rights
of the Palestinians.
Hezbollah is a political party in Lebanon which is represented in the
parliament, he pointed out.
Milliband arrived in Damascus for talks with President Bashar Assad
and al-Moualem.
