LATVIAN EMBASSY IN BAKU MARKS COUNTRY`s 90th ANNIVERSARY

Baku, 19 November,(AzerTAj)The Latvian embassy in Baku has organized an official reception at the Park INN Azerbaijan hotel to mark the
the 90th anniversary of the country`s independence.

The reception was attended by several Azerbaijani ministers, parliamentarians, as
well as ambassadors of foreign countries in Baku and representatives of
international organizations.
Addressing the event, Latvian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mihails Popkovs spoke of the
history of Latvia`s independence, as well as the country`s economic and cultural
successes.
On Latvia-Azerbaijan relations, Popkovs praised the level of their development.
Deputy speaker of the Milli Majlis Valeh Alasgarov delivered Azerbaijan President
Ilham Aliyev`s congratulations and best wishes to the Latvian people.
Alasgarov joined the Latvian ambassador in describing the two countries` relations
as developing.
He stressed Latvia plays an important role in terms of transportation of Azerbaijani
energy resources to Europe.
