Abu Dhabi University's new campus inaugurated

Abu Dhabi, Nov 19, 2008 (WAM) - The new Abu Dhabi Campus of the Abu Dhabi University (ADU) was officially inaugurated yesterday. Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the ADU Board of Trustees, inaugurated the AED600 million ultra-modern new campus on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The inauguration ceremony attracted a number of dignitaries, including Sheikhs, officials, representatives of academic institutions in the country professors and members of the diplomatic corps.

Sheikh Nahyan flanked by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan toured the various sections of the new campus. He was briefed about the university's training programmes in collaboration with a number of agencies and social institutions in the country. He also toured the IT lab which was fully equipped in collaboration with Cisco Systems Inc., as well as the Applied Science, languages and translation labs.
