Hamdan bin Zayed congratulates Abu Dhabi TV Channel
Abu Dhabi, Nov 19, 2008 (WAM) - H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, and Head of the Emirates Falconers Club, yesterday congratulated Abu Dhabi TV Channel for winning the Gold Prize for Best Documentary at the Cairo Arab Media Festival.
The prize was awarded to Abu Dhabi TV for the documentary series "Al Miqnas", Arabic for Falconer.
In a telephone conversation with the general Manager of Abu Dhabi TV Channel, Sheikh Hamdan said the prize represented a valuable addition to the Channel's achievement. He referred to the great attention given to environment protection by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and General/ H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Sheikh Hamdan appeared in three episodes of Al Miqnas series, demonstrating how falconry, as a genuine Arab tradition, respects environmental laws.
