Seoul shares open marginally lower on U.S. woes

SEOUL, Nov. 19 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks opened 0.08 percent lower
Wednesday as worsened U.S. economic indicators hurt investor sentiment here,
analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 0.78 points to

The U.S. Labor Department reported Tuesday that the nation's wholesale prices
plunged by a record amount in October, while the American homebuilders'
confidence index for November dropped to a new all-time low.
The local currency was trading at 1,441.75 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15
a.m., up 6.25 won from Tuesday's close.
