MILLI MAJLIS SPEAKER MEETS ATAF DELEGATION

Baku, 17 November,(AzerTAj) Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis (Parliament) Ogtay Asadov met Monday with visiting delegation of Azerbaijan-Turkey Historical Research Foundation (ATAF).

The Speaker spoke of the history of Azerbaijan-Turkey relationship.
He stressed the significant contribution of Azerbaijani and Turkish Presidents to
lifting both countries` relations to the level of a strategic partnership.
According to him, Azerbaijan and Turkey have become the world`s leader countries for
their economic development.
Mr. Asadov expressed hope that ATAF would take efficient measures to expose Armenian
lies.
The Speaker pointed out Milli Majlis would always support ATAF`s activities.
He also noted Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking countries will be
established in the near future, adding it will open a new stage in expansion of
Turkey-Azerbaijan cooperation.
Attending the meeting Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic said his country
would always stand by Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh question.
According to him, Turkey will never open its borders with Armenia unless the
Azerbaijani territories are liberated from Armenian occupation.
Deputy Chairman of ATAF`s Board of Trustees and Chairman of Azerbaijan- Turkey
Business Association (ATIB) Ahmet Erentok said the work on drawing up a new strategy
of ATAF was underway.
According to him, ATAF plans to hold the first International Azerbaijan-Turkey
Historical Conference in Baku on June 9-10.
He also told of ATAF`s measures done to condemn Armenians` groundless claims.
