AZERBAIJANI CHAMBER OF AUDITORS BECOMES IFAC MEMBER

Baku, 17 November,(AzerTAj) At its meeting on November 13 in Rome, the Board of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has decided to take in Azerbaijan Chamber of Auditors as IFAC full-fledged member.

Chamber`s becoming the IFAC member will help raise financial transparency, boost
fight against corruption and apply international accounting and auditing standards
in Azerbaijan.
During the Rome trip, chief of the Chamber Vahid Novruzov met with representatives
of some countries to provide information about the economic reforms, accomplishments
achieved to ensure financial transparency. He reached an agreement with Romania`s
Chamber of Auditors to sign a protocol of intent on bilateral cooperation in Baku.
Azerbaijan Chamber of Auditors had been IFAC associated member since 2003. While it
takes 13 years to become a full-fledged member, Azerbaijan managed to do it in five
years thanks to President Ilham Aliyev-led reforms and Azerbaijan`s increasing
international prestige.
