Works in Aden port resumed, says transport minister
ADEN, Nov. 17 (Saba) - The Minister of Transport Khaled al-Wazir said
on Monday that the strike staged by employees in Aden Sea Port and
containers was postponed and works in port resumed.
Al-Wazir said that a meeting with representatives of the employees
came out with positive results to tackle problems which appeared
recently and insure rights of employees in the port.
He also affirmed concern of the government represented by the
ministry to protect rights of the employee in the port.
Al-Wazir highlighted positive response of employees to resolve
misunderstanding caused after International Dubai Port Company
handed over responsibility of running the Aden port and containers
terminal.
Aden governor Adnan al-Jafri also affirmed concern of the
governorate leadership to operate Yemeni labor and benefit from its
experience as well as tackling issues of employees.
He insisted on importance of gathering efforts to develop the Aden
port, saying any dispute should be tackled within dialogue and not
stick which damage interests of port and employers as well.
