DAY OF CONSTITUTION AND NATIONAL REVIVAL DAY OF AZERBAIJAN MARKED IN DUBAI

Baku, 17 November,(AzerTAj)A ceremony to mark the Day of Constitution (12 November) and the National Revival Day (17 November) of Azerbaijan was held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The event brought together representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish communities, the Turkman nationals of Iraq, Azerbaijani students who are studying in the UAE and others.

Head of the Azerbaijani community in the UAE Samir Imanov briefed the participants
on the history and establishment of the Constitution Day.
According to him, national leader Heydar Aliyev`s great efforts to create political
stability and prevent the coup in the country provided favorable conditions for
adoption of the Constitution on November 12, 1995.
Mr. Imanov underscored the Constitution`s adoption greatly contributed to
strengthening the Azerbaijani statehood and increasing the country`s image in the
world community.
Samir Imanov also spoke of the National Revival Day. He said Azerbaijani people`s
struggle for freedom in 1988 resulted in the country`s gaining independence.
He also stressed national leader Heydar Aliyev`s great role in the Azerbaijani
people`s fight for freedom, noting “these were important steps to restore our
national statehood.”
Samir Imanov emphasized President Ilham Aliyev`s significant contribution to
ensuring Azerbaijan`s dynamic development and increasing the country`s international
reputation.
