Japan offers $ 100,000 to improve education in Yemen
SANA'A, Nov. 16 (Saba) - The Japanese embassy in Yemen announced on
Sunday granting $ 100,000 to improve the educational environment in
the schools targeted by Bridge project to develop girl education.
The announcement came during signing a minute of completing Bridge
project, being carried out currently in Taiz governorate, by the
Deputy Education Minister Abdullah al-Hamadi and the resident
representative of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
in Sana'a.
The minute stipulated the continuation of Bridge project, training
teaches and heads of the targeting schools and creating a mechanism
for the direct transferring of the financial allocations to the
accounts of the teagting schools.
Moreover, the ministry should approve appointing 125 teachers, of
whom the project has contracted with, in addition to extending the
projects to add 60 new schools besides the 59 current ones in
throughout the governorate districts.
