QUAKE HITS BENGKULU
Bengkulu, Nov 16 (ANTARA) - An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale shook Bengkulu province on Sunday but there was no immediate report of casualties or material damage.
The epicenter of the quake which struck at 3.30 p.m. was in the sea 133 km southwest of Bintuhan in Bengkulu in a depth of 83 km, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said.
The tremblor did not have the potential of causing a tsunami, it said.
Earlier, on Tuesday (Nov 11), a 5.3 magnitude quake also jolted the province, with its epicenter located 59 km southwest of the provincial capital in a depth of 27 km.
