VP arrives in Algiers

Tehran, Nov 16, IRNA First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi and his accompanying delegation
arrived in Algiers Airport on Saturday and was welcomed by Algerian PM
and a number of cabinet ministers.


The Iranian delegation included ministers of Housing and Urban
Development, Defence, Industries and Mines as well as minister of
Welfare and managing director of Iran Khodro Company.

At the airport, Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and ministers of
Interior, Economy, Oil and Mines, Health, Communication, Natural
Resources and Tourism, Higher Education and Cabinet minister welcomed
Iranian senior delegation.

Davoudi said the aim of his 2-day visit to Algiers is to follow up the
implementation of the agreements already reached between the two
countries.

Presidents of Iran and Algeria had already signed two important
agreements in the fields of Custom cooperation and removing obstacles
on trade exchanges.

Head of Iran's senior delegation to Algeria called bilateral ties
between the two countries "Friendly and brotherly" and added expansion
of relations with Africa is among Iran's foreign policy priorities and
Algeria has an important role and determining position in the continent.
