NDI urges political parties to work together

SANA'A, Nov. 15 (Saba)- The National Democratic Institute(N.D.I)
affirmed it will continue to support Yemen to experience a good
multiparty democracy and better its political policies, 26 Sep.net
reported on Saturday .

The institute urged the country political parties to overcome all
obstacles that may hinder the upcoming election and that harm
democracy in Yemen.

The NDI regional director of Middle East and North Africa Leslie
Campbell further said that the recent obstacles impose on the
political parties to work together to draw positive views toward
the development of democracy in the country.

The institute renewed its call on the parties to cooperate and reach
agreement to solve current problems and to enhance the democratic
experience through dismissing party narrow interests that could
undermine democracy and election principles.

Campbell praised Yemen's long efforts to achieve democratic
development, saying Yemen has, for a decade, been struggling to
practice good democracy.
