Iran supports unity talks in Korean peninsula: FM


Tehran, Nov 15, IRNA

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Iran supports unity talks in
Korean peninsula.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on
Friday, Mottaki, who is in Seoul, in a meeting with his Korean
counterpart underlined expansion of bilateral relations.

Referring to the good mutual ties, Mottaki said, "Iran considers
expansion of cooperation with Asian countries as a priority in its
foreign policy."
Mottaki added, "Expansion of international and regional cooperation
with Asian countries like South Korea is Iran's intention."
Yu Myung-hwan by welcoming expansion of ties with Iran, said, "Holding
a successful seminar for investment in Iran in the Seoul indicates the
serious intention of Korean industrialists for expanding relations
between the two countries."
He underlined cultural and international cooperation between Iran and
S. Korea and said, "Iran's cultural exhibition in Seoul has attracted
much attention."
In the meeting, the latest regional development and world economic
crisis were considered and discussed by two foreign ministers.
