“WE SUPPORT INCREASE OF OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION IN AZERBAIJAN, MATTHEW BRYZA

Baku, 14 November,(AzerTAj)The countries of Europe should have realized a long time
ago that Azerbaijan plays a strategic role in the West`s gas production, Deputy
Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew Bryza told
AzerTAc correspondent.
“We support increase of oil and gas production in Azerbaijan, which is to be enough
for Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and the Europe”, said Mr. Bryza.
Matthew Bryza underlined that US supports all projects in the region linked with
construction of the pipelines, including Nabucco project. On importance of
cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the field of energy, US official
stressed that despite the fact that Russia transports enough volume of gas to
Europe, there is a need to find additional sources. In particular transportation of
Azerbaijani gas to Europe is an important task, said Bryza.
