BUYBACK PLAN SLOWS DOWN BUMI'S FREE FALL

PT Bumi Resources, Asia's biggest thermal-coal exporter, managed to slow its price slide Friday thanks to its buyback plan, although selling pressure is likely to continue until after the buyback is complete, analysts say. The Bumi stock price fell by 1.69 percent to Rp1,160, retreating from an earlier gain of up to 10 percent.

FLOODS SUBMERGE 13,000 HOUSES IN JAKARTA

Water surrounded and submerged parts of Jakarta, the capital city. From the south, water coming from Bogor triggered Ciliwung River to overflow and inundated thousands of houses. From the north, the seawater tide also hit and inundated tens of housing complexes.

Landslides in Nyalindung kampong, Girimukti village, Campaka sub district, West Java, on Thursday (Nov. 13), at 10 pm killed five residents and caused 10 others missing, and destroyed more than 50 houses.
