JAKARTA SHARES OPEN 3 POINTS HIGHER FRIDAY

Jakarta, Nov. 14 (ANTARA) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) started 3 points higher Friday morning as investors hailed overnight rebounds in US markets.

The IHSG was up 3.078 points or 0.24 percent at 1,262.791 and the LQ45 index surged 0.819 points or 0.37 percent at 244.981.

PT Trimegah Securities in its daily research analysis, said here on Friday that the BEI shares rebounded on the US and regional bourses' gains.

However, Trimegah Securities estimated that technically the IHSG movement would still be overshadowed by pressure and would be tested at the level of 1,220.

Several US economic indicators which would emerge, were expected to be able to halt pressures and help the IHSG to surge.

An increase in the price of Bumi Resources shares -- the first since September 19, 2008 -- by Rp90 to Rp1,270, also added to the stock market's positive sentiment.

The index gains were also boosted by surges in major shares. State Gas Company shares were up Rp60 to Rp1.770, Bukit Asam Coal Mine Company rose Rp300 to Rp6,150, state-owned Telecommunication Co. went up Rp150 to Rp5,850, Antam increased Rp40 to Rp1,070, Bank BRI surged Rp75 to Rp3,500, Astra International made a gain of Rp500 to Rp9,900 and Indo Tambangraya tose Rp500 to Rp8,850.
