RI, MALAYSIA DISCUSSING BORDER ISSUES

Kuala Lumpur, Nov 13 (ANTARA) - Indonesia and Malaysia once again discussed border issues through the 26th meeting of the working group on social and economic affairs of the General Border Committee Malaysia-Indonesia (GBC Malindo) in Malacca, Malaysia, on Thursday.

Indonesia's chief delegate to the meeting Kausar AS said that several issues of mutual border concern discussed in the meeting included the plan to put stickers on vehicles passing the border areas in Kalimantan and to develop land and sea check points in the border areas.
The GBC Malindo's working group is a forum for the two neighboring countries to discuss social and economic cooperation in their border areas. This forum has been working since 1985.
Co-chaired by the ministers of defense of both nations, the working group which is under the GBC Malindo, is responsible to the High Level Committee, which is jointly chaired by the commanders of the armed forces of the two countries.
