UN adopts resolution to provide aid to Yemen


NEW YORK, Nov. 12 (SABA) - The United Nations General Assembly
approved Wednesday unanimously a resolution draft concerning
providing economic assistance to the country to tackle the damage
caused by the rainstorm hit in the Eastern governorates of Hadramout
and Mahrah.

The resolution draft submitted by the Permanent Mission of Yemen to
the Assembly adopted by 61 countries including the United States,
Japan, Indonesia, India, Iran, Pakistan, the Philippines and Arab
countries.

The draft resolution calls upon member states, relevant UNs' bodies,
international institutions and development agencies to provide
economic and technical assistance to Yemen in the process of
recovery and rehabilitation after disasters.
