THREE PROTEST RALLIES TO HAPPEN IN JAKARTA WEDNESDAY
Jakarta, Nov 12 (ANTARA) - Three protest rallies are expected to take place at different locations in Jakarta on Wednesday with the potential of causing traffic jam on a number of main roads in the capital city.
According to the Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center (TMC) on Wednesday morning, the first rally would start at about 9 a.m.
in front of State-owned Enterprises Ministry office on Merdeka Selatan street in Central Jakarta.
The group of protesters in the first rally would then go ahead with the similar activity in front of Forestry Ministry office on Gatot Subroto street in South Jakarta.
After that the second group of protesters would stage a rally in front of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office on Rasuna Said street, also in South Jakarta, and then would proceed to legislative building on Gatot Subroto street.
And then the third rally would be staged by the third group of protesters at two different location, namely in front of Central Jakarta District Court on Gajah Mada street, and in front of Merdeka Palace on Merdeka Utra street in Central Jakarta.
The three protest rallies are expected to take place from 9 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon, the the Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center (TMC) did not mention the number of people in each group of protester.
According to the TMC four protest rallies were also staged at different locations in Jakarta last Wednesday, Nove 5, 2008.
It said the first rally was staged staged in front of the General Election Commission (KPU) office on Imam Bonjol street in Central Jakarta, and the second one was outside the Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda) office at Arion House on Wijaya-I street in South Jakarta.
The third rally by the same group of protesters was staged in front of the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry on Gatot Subroto street in South Jakarta from where they moved to the PT Jamsostek office on the same street.
In addition to the three protest rallies at 10 last Wednesday, the fourth rally was held from 2 to 5 in the afternoon in front of the Merdeka Palace on Merdeka Utara street in Central Jakarta.
