SIX TSUNAMI SIRENS IN BALI READY FOR OPERATION
Denpasar, Nov 11 (ANTARA) - Tsunami early warning sirens in locations in Bali are set for operation, an official said.
"We have familiarized the relevant officials, the public as well as hotels and restaurant with the system," Sutrisno, head of the data and information agency of the Denpasar Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said here on Tuesday.
The six locations are Seminyak Beach, Kuta, Kedonganan, Nusa Dua, Benoa Peninsula, and Sanur Beach.
The other locations are in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam and West Sumatra, six sirens in each province.
"The early-warning sirens will be operated only during an earthquake with a potential to trigger a tsunami," Sutrisno said, adding that the sirens will ring for three minutes.
