RYAN SAYS HE IS READY TO ACCEPT DEATH SENTENCE

Jakarta, Nov 11 (ANTARA) - Serial killer suspect Verry Idham Henryansyah alias Ryan who has murdered ten victims in East Java and mutilated Heri Santoso in Depok, said he was ready to accept death sentence.
"I am ready to accept it if I am sentenced to death," Ryan said at his cell of the detention house of Depok's High Prosecutor office, here on Tuesday.
Jakarta police handed over Ryan to Depok's High Prosecutor Office on Tuesday for immediate legal process.
Besides Ryan, the Jakarta police also handed over items of evidence of his crime to the prosecutor office in Depok, a Jakarta buffer town about 40 km to the south.
The evidence included a rice cooker, a Dutch pillow, a bed cover, a television set, a dish rack and an APV minibus belonging to mutilated victim Heri Santoso.
Jakarta police investigators came in three cars to Depok to deliver the suspect. Ryan was driven to Depok in an Innova Kijng minibus.
Ryan who expressed readiness to accept a capital punishment said he hoped his lover Novel Andreas (a gay) would not be punished with a heavy sentence.
"I hope Novel would be acquitted. Should he receive a punishment I hope he would get the light one," he said.
He also asked for apology to the family members of his victims. "I have to apologize to the family members of the victims," he said.
The Depok Prosecutor office will put Ryan in a cell of the Rajeg detention house in Cibinong.
For the crime he has allegedly committed, Ryan is charged with violating articles 338, 339 and 340 of the Criminal Codes. Violations of these articles are punishable by death, life imprisonment, or 15 to 20 years in jail.
The Depok prosecutor office has appointed five public prosecutors, chaired by Budi Panjaitan, to handle Ryan's case. ***3***
