Mottaki meets with Malaysian deputy premier

Kuala Lumpur, Nov 11, IRNA Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Tuesday morning held
talks with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Mohamed Najib bin Abdul
Razak on ways to develop
cooperation.

Mottaki and Razak discussed the two countries ties that have had
growing trend during the past 30 years, particularly in the last three
years.

Iranian foreign minister called for boosting cooperation on issues
concerning Central Asia, Africa and the Middle East that upgrade the
ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Razak said that Iran has special place in the Mideast
region and the two countries enjoy extensive commonalties.

Expressing his pleasure with Tehran-Kuala Lumpur close ties, Razak
called for further cooperation in energy and oil.

He said that his country spares no effort to boost mutual ties.

The two officials also drew a Road Map for economic cooperation in
agriculture, building and energy fields.

Mottaki is in Malaysia on the first leg of his four-nation regional
tour to South-East Asia.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, he arrived in Kuala Lumpur on
Sunday to attend the 7th meeting of Iran-Malaysia Joint Economic
Commission on November 10-11.

Mottaki's Malaysian counterpart Rais Yatim co-chairs the Malaysia's
delegation at the joint meeting.

Iranian foreign minister is to hold separate meetings with Malaysian
Prime Minister Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi as well as Mahathir Mohammad,
Malaysian former prime minister.
