Arab first ladies arrive in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, Nov 11, 2008 (WAM) - Princess Lalla Salma, Wife of King Mohammed VI of Morocco; Sheikha Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of the King of Bahrain; Sheikha Latifa Al-Fahd Al-Salim Al-Sabah, Chairperson of the Women's Affairs Committee in Kuwait; Mrs. Asmaa Al Asad, wife of the Syrian President; Widad Babiker, wife of Sudanese President; and Mrs. Suzan Mubarak, wife of the Egyptian President, arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday heading their countries' delegations to the 2nd Arab Women Organisation Conference.
They were received by HH Sheikh Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the UAE General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation and Chairperson of the Arab Women Organisation.
Mrs. Wafa Sulaiman, wife of the Lebanese President, Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Wife of King Abdullah II of Jordan, also arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday to attend the second conference of the Arab Women's Organisation.
They were welcomed by Sheikha Al Yaziya bint Saif Al Nahyan, Wife of Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Mrs. Takabur bint Ahmed, wife of the Mauritanian President, was received by H.E. Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of foreign Trade.
