WEF names Dubai as permanent venue for global agenda summit
Dubai, Nov 11, 2008 (WAM) - The inaugural Summit on the Global Agenda came to a successful conclusion on 9th November producing conclusive recommendations, observations and comments on key global issues. The outcomes of the summit will be further taken up at the 2009 World Economic Forum in Davos.
The three-day summit in Dubai, organised by the Government of Dubai and the World Economic Forum, saw over 700 knowledge thought leaders from 70 working councils in eight clusters coming together to address pressing global challenges.
Concurrently, the World Economic Forum named Dubai as the permanent headquarters for the annual Summit on the Global Agenda.
Co-chaired by Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of World Economic Forum, and Mohamed Alabbar, Member of the Dubai Executive Council and Co-Chairman of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Summit, the Dubai Summit evaluated issues ranging from the financial sector turmoil and climate change to poverty eradication and sustainable development.
