AZERBAIJAN TO COMPETE IN CHESS-OLYMPIAD DRESDEN 2008
Baku, 10 November,(AzerTAj)A team of Azerbaijani chess players will participate in the Chess-Olympiad Dresden 2008 on November 13-25.
Member of Azerbaijan national team Vugar Hashimov said, “Our teams are ready to compete in the Olympiad. Azerbaijan deserves to take the best place and we have potential to do that. Some of our grandmasters are among world`s top 100 players”.
Vugar Hashimov stressed that Russia is Azerbaijan`s main rival.
According to him, there are very strong chess players in Russia, including Vladimir
Kramnik, Alexander Morozevich, Peter Svidler.
“Teams of Ukraine and China are also strong, but we can defeat them all”, Hashimov
underlined.
