Qatar Handball Team Beat Pakistan at Asian Youth Games

Nanjing, China, August 14 (QNA) - The Qatari handball team overpowered Pakistan 61-7 in their second match at the 2nd Asian Youth Games on Wednesday. The victory brought the Qatari tally of points to 4 to secure a place in the second round before their last match in the first round against Iran on Thursday. On the other hand, the Qatari football team will take on Thailand on Thursday. The Qatari footballers began their campaign at the Asian Games with a 1-4 defeat against China on Tuesday. The Qatari football squad includes Ghanim Mohammad Ismael, Nasser Al-Harbi, Abdullah Al-Saei, Khalid Al-Obaidli, Nasser Al-Kaabi, Thamer Al-Meraikhi, Fahad Al-Qusaimi, Khalid Al-Yazidi, Naser Bukhush, Ali Karami, Mohammad Abdullah, Abdullah Nasser Al-Meraisi, Ahmad Al-Menhali, Khalid Fahad Al-Mullah, Ismail Redhwani, Yousef Al-Badre, Abdullah Al-Sheip and Ghami Abdullah Ahmad. According to organizers, the Opening Ceremony of the second Asian Youth Games will be staged August 16 at Nanjing Stadium. The ceremony comprising displays and programs reflecting the glorious history and culture of China. Just like the inaugural edition, the games will serve as a dress-rehearsal for the upcoming 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, which will also be held in the same city. (QNA)
