Two Qatari Planes with Relief Materials to Sudan
Doha, August 14 (QNA) - Upon the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, two Qatari planes, carrying flood aid to the heavy rains and floods-stricken people in Sudan, left Doha on Wednesday for Sudan.
The two planes carry 30 tonnes of various relief materials, thus bringing the total Qatari assistance headed for Sudan to 95 tons.
Search and Rescue Team of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) earlier Monday was entrusted with transporting and delivering the first batch of assistance to Khartoum Airport and which included 40 tonnes of relief materials and medicines in addition to accommodation tents and water drawing pumps.
Lekhwiya team also transported and delivered earlier Tuesday second cargo of 25 tonnes of relief items including pumps to draw water, power generators, tents and medicines. (QNA)
