AZERBAIJAN TO INSTITUTE NATIONAL SECURITY BODIES 9OTH JUBILEE MEDAL

Baku, 10 November,(AzerTAj)A session of the Milli Majlis Standing Commission on Security and Defense Affairs took place on November 10 under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker, Head of the Commission Ziyafat Asgarov.

Parliamentarians first dealt with the draft resolution on withdrawal of Azerbaijan
Military contingent from Iraq as its 5-year mandate has expired.
The second issue on the agenda was consideration of the draft law “On approval of
the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism.”
Chairman Asgarov said the Convention is very useful for Azerbaijan, which has
suffered from Armenian terrorism for years, adding the country is joining the
convention on special terms and conditions.
Members of the Commission also discussed the draft law on institution of the “90th
Anniversary (1919-2009) of the National Security Bodies of the Azerbaijan Republic”
jubilee medal of the Azerbaijan Republic.
They decided to submit all the three documents for approval to the Milli Majlis.
