Muntajat JSC Belaruskali Sign Agreement to Market and Sell Potash to Global Markets

Doha, August 06 (QNA) - Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) Q.J.S.C., the company with the mandate to export Qatar's 10 million tonnes of chemicals and petrochemicals to worldwide markets and JSC Belaruskali, the Belarusian state-owned producer of potash, today confirmed their agreement on joint sales of potash fertilizer products. The agreement gives Muntajat access to market and sell up to 3 million tonnes of potash annually. Potash is a crop nutrient used in fertilizers worldwide, said Muntajat in a press release today. Commenting on the framework agreement, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Muntajat, Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla, said, "The agreement to sell potash from Belarus marks a strategic evolution of Muntajats business. In addition to acting as the gateway to the chemicals, Polymers and Fertilizers produced in the state of Qatar , we are expanding to complementary products as part of our global operations. This agreement is of benefit to our growing customer base, as well as to Belaruskali and Muntajat." Belaruskali CEO said, "We are pleased to sign this potash marketing agreement with Muntajat, an established global supplier of nitrogen fertilisers. This framework will result in an expansion of the reach of Belarussian potash to new markets." Executive Director of Marketing and Sales at Muntajat, Yousef Jeham Al-Kuwari, , said, "Potash is a fertilizer in high demand in established and emerging world markets. Adding this product to the nitrogen fertilizer portfolio distributed by Muntajat strengthens our position in this sector and offers customers more convenience as they will be able to source urea and potash from one distributor." Mandated by Emiri Decree No. 11/2012, Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) Q.J.S.C. holds exclusive rights to purchase, market, distribute and sell Qatar’s production of chemical and petrochemical products on the global market. Through its producing entities, Qatar produces 10 million tonnes per year of chemical, polymers and fertilizers, sold to customers in more than 120 countries.
