Iran, Malaysia FMs discuss issues of mutual interest

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, who is in Kuala Lumpur, in a meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Rais Yatim discussed with him issues of mutual interest on Monday.

According to the Foreign Ministry Media Department, in the meeting, Mottaki by referring to the bilateral relations in all fields said, "Increasing the volume of ties needs drawing a long-term cooperation policy."

Mottaki said, "Current world situation necessitates common cooperation among a group of countries for preserving peace and justice in the world."

Malaysian Foreign Minister Rais Yatim, for his part, said,"The two countries have a large capacity for economic cooperation and we should try to use it."

He expressed his country's readiness for expansion of economic cooperation with Iran. /end
