QEWC Reports H1 Net Profit of QR 637 Million

Doha, August 01 (QNA) - Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) has posted a net profit of QR 637 Million for the period ending June 30, 2013. The utilities company had reported a net profit of QR 636.5 Million for the same period in 2012. The company's Earning per Share (EPS) were QR 6.37 as of June 30, the same as in 2012. The first six months of 2013 witnessed an increase of 2.3% in sales (QR 1,405 Million as against QR 1,373 Million reported in 2012) and an increase of 4% in gross profit at QR624 Million as against QR600 Million reported in 2012. QEWC Board of Directors chaired by HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah who is also the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency, adopted the interim condensed financial results for the first half of the fiscal year 2013 ending June 30 and the balance sheet for period referred to after it was reviewed by Deloitte & Touche, the auditors of the company.
