AZERBAIJAN ATTRACTS $2798.5 MILLION FOREIGN LOAN FOR NINE MONTHS
Baku, 10 November,(AzerTAj)Total volume of foreign loans attracted to Azerbaijan as
of 1 October, 2008 is $2798.5 million that makes up 6.9% of the country’s Gross
Domestic Product (GDP).
Out of $376.6 million drown to assist economic reforms, $81.9 million have been done
allocated by the International Monetary Fund and $268.3 million – by the World Bank.
The volume of loans drawn for investment projects has been $2448.3 million dollars,
including $1105.9 million designated for energy sector, $216.9 million for agrarian
sector and melioration, $585.3 million for road building and transport sector, $38.8
million for chemical industry, $161 million for oil and gas sector, $58 million for
restoration of the territories liberated from the occupation, $192.9 million for
social sphere and $89.4 million for other sectors.
