RP81.9 BILLION PROVIDED FOR COOPERATIVES IN BENGKULU

Bengkulu, Indonesia, Nov 10 (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) has provided Rp81.9 billion in capital assistance for cooperatives and small as well medium sized businesses in Bengkulu in the 2000-2007 period, an official said here on Monday.

Head of Cooperative and UKM office in Bengkulu Zainal Abidin said of the total some Rp76.257 billion were provided for cooperatives and Rp6.707 billion for small businesses.
"The assistance was provided for the cooperatives and micro businesses to be used as a business capital," he said.
He said that the amount of assistance for each recipient varied. The number of recipients was recorded at 274 business units. The biggest assistance worth Rp21 billion was provided for fishermen for the procurement of a fishing ship.***
