Qatar Participates in International Holy Quran Contest in Jordan

Doha, July 30 (QNA) - Qatar participates in the International Competition for the Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation, currently being held in Jordan. Qatar is represented by the Ibrahim Yousef, who competes in the third section of the competition which includes memorization of 10 parts of the Holy Quran. 43 countries are participating in the contest , which began yesterday and will continue until September 27. The Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs is keen to participate in such international competitions where Qatari participants prove high abilities in the Holy Quran memorization, recitation and Tajweed. The Ministry's department of the Holy Quran is now preparing to participate in other international contests in Malaysia, Iran, Algeria, Tunisia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Morocco.(QNA)
