Qatar Participated in First Arab Forum for Humanitarian Action in Abu Dhabi

Doha, July 29 (QNA) - Qatar participated in the First Arab Forum for humanitarian action in Abu Dhabi, organized by Zayed Giving Initiative in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Arab Union for Voluntary Work. The Forum coincided with the third session of the UAE's humanitarian conference entitled "Social Investment is our national responsibility". Youssuf Al Kazim, Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work (AUVW), who is also the Secretary of Qatar Centre for Voluntary Activities (QCVA) said, the society in which aspects of growth and stability were achieved will enjoy peace and through cooperation of its groups it could achieve a real and strong development in various fields. Speaking at the opening session of the forum, Al Kazem added that the realization of the development comes only through the doubling of efforts by all individuals and sectors of the community with the aim to achieve stability, prosperity and development for all , saying that the responsibility should be shouldered by all sectors through their effective role in achieving development. He said the goals of the AUVW since its inception 10 years ago is to achieve human development in all parts of the Arab world in the field of community work especially in the voluntary domain. Al Kazim, who led Qatar delegation to the forum, reviewed efforts and meetings of the AUVW with all governments agencies and institutions in Arab countries in order to get acquainted with the problems which hinder humanitarian work, find out solutions, encourage these institutions to support communal activities and provide all facilities to those who have the desire to serve the community . He pointed out the objective of the AUVW is to build bridges of trust and confidence between government institutions and the private sector with a view of serving the community, indicating that there was a serious and fruitful cooperation between many government institutions that have expressed and welcomed to participate in the realization of development and progress in the field of humanitarian action.(QNA)
