Iran to study freeze for freeze offer if not asked to suspend

Iran will study the freeze for freeze offer if it did not include suspension of uranium enrichment, a Foreign Ministry official said on Monday.

Director General of the ministry's Political and International Studies, Rasoul Moussavi, made the remarks commenting on an offer made by EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana to Iran to accept the freeze for freeze.

The offer was put forward by the Group 5+1 last summer in order to continue talks to resolve the dispute over Iranian nuclear program.

Based on the proposal, both sides are required to freeze their activities from any further development without stopping them altogether.

"Iran would probably study the freeze for freeze offer considering it as a broad-minded plan to continue the talks and a plan which would not include suspension," Moussavi told IRNA./end
