UN selects Abu Dhabi Community police as role model
Abu Dhabi, Nov 10, 2008 (WAM) - United Nations' delegation applauded the Abu Dhabi Community Police experience, calling it "a role model that should be emulated by other countries".
The delegation, which includes the United Kingdom Police Chief Inspector Alan Costello and Dominic Wissler, Senior Adviser at United Nations Development Programme, expressed their admiration during their visit to the department of Abu Dhabi community police.
"The aim of the visit is to acquaint ourselves with the UAE experience in the field of community police, which has to copied by other countries due to its success on the ground", they said.
Major Mubarak Awadh, deputy director of the Abu Dhabi community police said that the visit was in line with the instructions of UAE Interior Minister HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan to exchange expertise and experience with different countries.
