Sheikha Fatima to inaugurate 2nd Arab Women Organisation Conference

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak will open on Tuesday the 2nd Arab Women Organisation conference at the Emirates Palace Hotel.
A number of distinguished personalities, including queens, first ladies, ministers, senior officials and heads of delegations, will attend the three-day conference which is being held under the theme: "Women in the context of Human Security Issues - Arab and International Perspectives".

The conference will start with an opening address by Sheikha Fatima, to be followed by an address by the Wife of the King of Bahrain, Sheikha Sabika bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, the outgoing President of the Organisation. Other speakers include the first ladies attending the conference and followed by Dr. Wadouda Badran, Secretary General of the Arab Women Organisation (AWO).

Sheikha Fatima will launch "Media Strategy for Arab Women" and the "Network of Arab Women in the Diaspora" initiatives. She will also honour winners of the AWO research scholarship and the "Arab Women in Science and Technology for Development" award.

She will later hold at the Al-Nahr Palace a luncheon in honour of the queens, first ladies and senior officials attending the conference. She will also hold another luncheon in honour of her guests on the second day of the conference at the Rowdat Al-Reef Palace.
The conference ends on November 13 with two sessions, one in the morning and another in the evening.
