Ministry of Environment and Water signs agreement with FAO
Minister of Environment and Water HE Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahd and Representative of UN's Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) in UAE Kayan Jaff signed in Abu Dhabi yesterday an agreement for technical cooperation for setting up a regional system aimed at enhancing capability to ensure food safety.
The minister said that the agreement will enormously develop the capability of the laboratories in the country to test genetically modified food products.
The agreement will also assist the national programmes being developed in the field of biotechnology, filling the vacuum between the academic and research sectors and the industry.
