Barwa Real Estate Names New Chairman

Doha, July 23 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Youth and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali is the new chairman of the Board of Directors of Barwa Real Estate Company, Qatar's largest listed real estate company in terms of number of developments. Announcing the change in the representation of Qatari Diar Real Estate Company, its majority shareholder with 45% shares, Barwa said Engineers Issa Mohammed Al Mohannadi and Khalid Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sayed will be board members in the reshuffled board, according to a Qatar Exchange notification Tuesday. The Board of Directors includes seven members. Three are from the Qatari Diar, owned by Qatar Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund of the State, while the other four are elected by the shareholders of Barwa Group. Barwa Group's business spreads over 40 investments in real estate developments within the country and abroad, financial, infrastructure and business services. Barwa has investments and operations in 13 other countries globally. (QNA)
