Yemen, AFESD review road damages in rainstorm-stricken area

SANA'A, Nov. 09 (Saba) - Yemen and Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) reviewed here on Sunday damages of the road network in Hadramout and Mahrah governorates in eastern area.

Minister of Public Works and Labor Omar al-Kurshomi discussed with the AFESD
Technical Department Director Ahmed Othman the possibility of the AFESD to fund the
rehabilitation of the Sayhout-Nashton road that was damaged due to the heavy floods.
The Fund has contributed 80 per cent of the total cost of the Sayhout-Nashton road.

The Minister al-Kurshomi praised efforts the AFESD exerts to enhance development in
the country as well as supporting the relief and reconstruction efforts in the
eastern rainstorm-stricken area.

AFESD official Othman asserted that the Fund is keen on sustaining the
infrastructure and development projects including road projects.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of implementation of road projects the AFESD
funds in several governorates in the country.
